It’s a Hoot Ladies Cardigan

 

I received the pattern as a gift from a lovely lady in Memphis.  The owls are adorable, it was an open cardigan, buttoned at the top, but it was a little too summery and I really wanted something more wintry. The original pattern can be seen at: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/its-a-hoot-owl-ladies-cardigan  With some changes, this is what I came up with.  I went with a mock turtle neck, pullover style, long sleeves and the owls are only on the front of the yoke.

I love the way the buttons are added, like beadwork! How clever is that? No sewing…….but what’s really cool is it’s her pattern, but it’s now the sweater that I really wanted.  The best of both worlds!
