Cozy Scarfette-Free Crochet Pattern

Skill Level:  Easy                      

Supplies:  3oz. Red Heart Light and Lofty, size N/13/9mm crochet hook, 2-1½”  buttons, needle and thread

Stitches Used: ch (chain), sc (single crochet)

Gauge: 9 sc = 5”, 10 rows = 5”

Directions:

Rnd. 1: ch10, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch1, turn.    9sc

Rnd. 2: sc in each sc, ch1, turn.   9sc

Rnd. 3: (buttonholes) sc in first 2 sc, ch1, skip next sc, sc in next 3 sc, ch1, skip next sc, sc in next 2 sc, ch1, turn.

Rnd. 4: sc in each sc and sc in each ch-1sp, ch1, turn.    9sc

Rnd. 5: sc in each sc, ch1, turn.    9sc

Rnds. 6-39: repeat rnd. 5.    9sc    (for a smaller size, you can reduce the number of rnds.)

Rnd. 40: sc in each sc, ch3, do not turn, working across top of neck warmer, sc, ch3 in each row; working down side of scarf, sc, ch3 in each sc, fasten off at last sc.

Bottom neckline: with right side facing, attach yarn in first st, sc in each st. around bottom of neckline, fasten off.

Assembly:

Lay scarfette flat with right side bottom crossing over to left side bottom of scarf on the diagonal, position buttons to buttonholes and sew buttons in place.
