Supplies: Size G/6/4mm Crochet Hook, Red Heart Super Saver-1/2 ounce Red (MC), ¼ ounce White (W), small amount thread or ornament hook for hanging.

Stitches Used: ch (chain), sl st (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), dc (double crochet), fpdc (front post double crochet), bpdc (back post double crochet).

Directions:

Rnd. 1: with MC, ch2, 8sc in 2^nd ch from hook, join, ch1, do not turn this or following rnds.        8sc

Rnd. 2: sc, dc in first sc, *sc, dc in next sc*, repeat 6 times, join, ch3 (counts as beginning dc in following rnd.).      16 st

Rnd. 3: sc in same st, *dc, sc in next st*, repeat 14 times, join to top of beginning dc, ch1.        32 st

Rnd. 4: sc in first dc, dc in next sc, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc*, repeat 14 times, join to beginning sc, ch3.         32 st

Rnd. 5: sc in next dc, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc*, repeat 14 times, join to top of beginning dc, ch1.          32 st

Rnd. 6: repeat rnd. 4.       32 st

Rnd. 7: sc in next dc, *dc in next sc, sc in next dc*, repeat 14 times, join to top of beginning dc, ch3.          32 st

Rnd. 8: with W, dc in next st and dc in each st around, join around post of beginning dc, ch3.        32 dc

Rnd. 9: *fpdc in next dc, bpdc in next dc*, repeat 14 times, fpdc in next dc, join to beginning dc, ch1, turn.          32 dc

Add pom-pom to top of hat, add string (or ornament hanger) to center top of hat for hanging.
