Toddler’s Puppy Hoodie-Free Crochet Pattern
Just for toddlers (2-4). Fun little hoodie for the little ones. Hope to have a Kitty Hoodie soon!

Skill Level: Easy
Stitches Used: ch (chain), slst (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), dc (double crochet), fpdc (front post double crochet), bpdc (back post double crochet).
Supplies: Red Heart Comfort (100% acrylic, 16 oz., 454 g/793m, 867 yds per skein) 10 oz. Color 1 (MC), 2 oz. Color 2 (CC), N/13/9mm Crochet Hook, Yarn Needle
Gauge: 8 pattern stitches, 7 pattern rows = 4” Pattern-(sc in next dc, dc in next sc)
Rnd. 1: (ribbing) working with 2 strands MC, ch50, careful not to twist, join with slst to beginning ch.
Rnd. 2: ch3 (counts as first dc in this and following Rnds.), do not turn, dc in next ch and in next 54 ch, join with slst around post of beginning dc. 50sts
Rnd. 3: ch3, do not turn, bpdc in next dc, *fpdc in next dc, bpdc in next dc*, repeat from *to* 23 times, join with slst around post of beginning dc. 50sts
Rnds. 4-5: repeat Rnd. 3, at end of Rnd. 5, join with slst to top of beginning dc. 50sts
Row 1: (hood) do not turn, slst in next dc, (slst, ch1, sc) in same st, dc in next st, *sc in next st, dc in next st*, repeat from *to* 21 times, leave remaining 2 sts u worked, do not join. 46sts
Row 2: ch1, turn, sc in same st, dc in next sc, *sc in next dc, dc in next sc*, repeat from *to* 21 times, do not join. 46sts
Rows 3-18: repeat Row 2, fasten off at end of Row 18, leacing a long tail. 46sts
Using tail, sew top seam closed.
Rnd. 1: right side facing, working with 2 strands (1 MC/1CC), attach yarn with slst to last sc at bottom of hood opening, working around the opening, evenly work 58 sc around, working a sc in end of each sc row and 2 sc in end of each dc row, join with slst to beginning sc. 58sc
Rnd. 2: ch1, turn, sc in first sc, dc in next sc, *sc in next sc, dc in next sc*, repeat from *to* 7 times, join with slst to beginning sc. 58sts
Rnd. 3: repeat Rnd. 2, fasten off at end of Rnd. 3, leaving long tail.
Fold trim to back of hat, sew to hood.
Outer Ears-Make 2
Row 1: with MC, 2 strands, ch7, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 5ch, ch1, turn. 6sc
Row 2: scdec over first 2sc, sc in next 4sc, ch1, turn. 5sc
Row 3: scdec over first 2sc, sc in next 3sc, ch1, turn. 4sc
Row 4: scdec over first 2sc, sc in next 2sc, ch1, turn. 3sc
Row 5: scdec over first 2sc, sc in next sc, ch1, turn. 2sc
Row 6: scdec over first 2 sc, ch 1, working around ear, sc in each st around working 2sc in each corner, join to beginning sc, fasten off, weave in ends. 1sc
Inner Ears-Make 2
Rows 1-6: with 2 strands CC, repeat Rows 1-6 of Outer Ears.
Place 2 ears of opposite colors together, with MC, 2 strands, right side facing, start at bottom right of ear, and working through both thicknesses, 2sc in first corner, sc in each st up side of ear, 3sc in top corner, sc in each st down side of ear, working 2sc in bottom corner, sc in each st across bottom of ear, join to beginning sc, fasten off, leaving tail.
Using tail, sew ears to top of hood evenly spaced as shown. Slightly bend in the center and ears will stand erect.
Using 3 strands (both colors), leaving 2” tail, ch 105, fasten off, leaving 2” tail. Weave tie trough last Rnd. of ribbing.
