AG Easter Basket-Free Pattern

AG Easter Basket

Dress up this little basket any way that your imagination takes you!  Fun for dolls but it can also be used as a party favor!

Skill Level:  Easy

Stitches Used: ch (chain), slst (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), dc (double crochet), fpdc (front post double crochet), bpdc (back post double crochet).

Front Post Double Crochet: (fpdc): Yo hook, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.

Back Post Double Crochet: (fpdc): Yo hook, insert hook from back to front to back around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.

Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st behind the fpdc and the st in front of the bpdc.

Supplies: F/5/3.75mm crochet hook, Sport or Infant Weight Yarn-1 oz White (W), ½ oz Multi Color (MC)

Gauge: 6 sc = 1 inch, 6 sc rows = 1 inch

To Change Colors

Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color yo and pull new color through rem loops on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

Directions

Rnd. 1: W, ch2, work 8sc in 2^nd ch from hook, join with slst to beginning sc, ch1, do not turn in this or following rnds.   8 sc

Rnd. 2: 2sc in each sc, join, ch1.    16 sc

Rnd. 3: sc in first sc, 2sc in next sc, *sc in next sc, 2sc in next sc*, repeat from *to* around, join, ch1.     24 sc

Rnd. 4: sc in each sc, join, ch1.     24 sc

Rnd. 5: sc in first 2 sc, 2sc in next sc, *sc in next 2 sc, 2sc in next sc*, repeat from *to* around, join, ch1.   32 sc

Rnd. 6: sc in first 3 sc, 2sc in next sc, *sc in next 3 sc, 2sc in next sc*, repeat from *to* around, join, ch1.   40 sc

Rnd. 7: repeat rnd. 4.      40 sc

Rnd. 8: working in back loops, sc in each sc, join, ch3 (counts as beginning dc of next rnd).    40 sc

Rnd. 9: dc in each sc around, join around post of beginning dc, ch3.     40 dc

Rnd. 10: MC, fpdc in next 3 dc, bpdc in next 4 dc, *fpdc in next 4 dc, bpdc in next 4 dc*, repeat from *to* 3 times, join around post of beginning dc, ch3..      40 dc

Rnd. 11: W, bpdc in next 3 dc, fpdc in next 4 dc, *bpdc in next 4dc, fpdc in next 4dc*, repeat from *to* 3 times, join around post of beginning dc, ch3.    40 dc

Rnd. 12: MC, fpdc in next 3 dc, bpdc in next 4 dc, *fpdc in next 4 dc, bpdc in next 4 dc*, repeat from *to* 3 times, join around post of beginning dc, ch1.      40 dc

Rnd. 13: slst in next 20 dc, ch25, slst in 40^th sc on basket, ch1, turn, slst in next 25 ch, slst in next 19 dc, join with slst to next slst on basket, fasten off.
