Supplies: Size 8 Crochet Hook, Size 10 Cotton Crochet Thread

Stitches Used: ch (chain),  slst (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), dc (double crochet), tr (treble crochet), picot (ch3, slst in 3^rd ch from hook).

Turning ch-3 counts as first dc.

Directions:

Starting at center, ch8. Join with slst to form ring.

Rnd. 1: ch3 (counts as beginning dc), 23dc in ring, slst, join with slst to beginning dc.

Rnd. 2: ch3, dc in same st, *ch2, skip 1 dc, 2dc in next dc*, repeat from *to* around, ch2, slst in beginning dc.   24dc, 12 ch-2sp

Rnd. 3: slst in next dc and in sp, ch3, in same sp make dc, ch2 and 2dc (starting shell made), [2dc, ch2 and 2dc (shell made) in next ch-2sp], repeat around.     12 shells

Rnd. 4: slst in next dc and in sp, ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc in same sp (shell over shell made), *ch2, shell in center of next shell*, repeat from *to* around, ch2, join with slst to beginning dc.    12 shells, 12 ch-2sps

Rnd. 5: slst to center of beg. shell, (ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc) in same sp, ch4, (2dc, ch5, 2dc) in center of next shell, ch4, *shell in next shell, ch4, (2dc, ch5, 2dc) in center of next shell, ch4*, repeat from *to* 4 times, join with slst to beginning dc.

Now work first pineapple as follows:

Row 1: slst in next dc and in sp, (ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc) in same sp,  (ch3, sc in next ch-3sp) 7 times, ch3, shell in next ch-2 sp, ch4, turn.

Row 2: slst in next dc and in sp, ch3, (ch3, sc in next ch-3sp) 6 times ch3, shell in next shell, ch4, turn.

Rows 3-6: re­peat the Row 2, making 1 loop less on each row until 1 loop remains.

Row 7: shell in shell, ch4, sc in ch-3 loop, ch4, 2dc in next shell, ch1, slst in sp of last complete shell, ch1, 2 dc in same place as last 2 dc were made, ch4, turn, sc in joining of shells. Break off.

Next 3 pineapples:
RS-Attach thread to ch-2sp of last shell on Rnd.12 of the pineapple just completed and work as follows:

Row 1: (ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc) in same sp as thread was attached, ch3, make 6 loops across pineapple, ch3, shell in shell, ch3, 13tr in next ch-5 sp, ch3, shell in next shell, ch3, make 6 loops across next pineapple, ch3, shell in next shell, ch4, turn.

Row 2: shell in shell, ch3, make 5 loops across pine­apple, ch3, shell in shell, ch3, (tr, ch1) 12 times, tr in next tr, ch3, shell in shell, ch3, make 5 loops across pineapple, ch3, shell in shell, ch4, turn.

Row 3: shell in shell, ch3, make 4 loops across pineapple, ch3, shell in shell, (ch3, sc in next ch-1 sp) 12 times,  ch3, shell in shell, ch3, make 4 loops across pineapple, ch3, shell in shell, ch4, turn.

Row 4: shell in shell, ch3, make 3 loops across pineapple, ch3, in sp of next shell make (2dc, ch2) twice and 2dc, ch3, skip next ch3, sc in loop, make 10 loops across pine­apple, ch3, in sp of next shell make (2dc, ch2) twice and 2dc, ch3, make 3 loops across pineapple, ch3, shell in shell, ch4, turn.

Row 5: shell in shell ch3, make 2 loops across pineapple, ch3, shell over next ch-2 sp, ch4, turn.

Complete this pineapple as before.

Complete the cor­responding, incomplete pineapple and the pineapple between these two in same way.

Complete other half of doily to cor­respond.

EDGING….Work 2 Rnds. all around outer edges as follows:

Rnd. 1: RS- attach thread to ch-4 loop at tip of any pineapple, (ch3, dc, ch2, 2sc) in same loop, *ch3, shell in next ch-4 loop*, repeat from *to* around, ending with, ch1, dc in first dc to join.

Rnd. 2: ch1, sc in same sp, *ch3, in sp of next shell make dc, picot, dc, ch3, sc in next sp between shells*, repeat from *to* around, ending with ch3, slst in 1st sc made, fasten off, weave in ends.

Starch lightly and press.
