Supplies: 50 yards, size 10 (bedspread weight) cotton crochet; size 1, steel crochet hook
Stitches used: chain, sc, dc
Directions:
Ch 6, join with slip stitch to form ring.
Rnd. 1: ch 3 (counts as first dc), 15 dc in ring. Do not turn this or any round. (16 dc)
Rnd. 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in joining; 2 dc in each dc, repeat around, join with slip stitch in top of first ch 3. (32 dc)
Rnd. 3: ch 3 (counts as first dc); [2 dc in next dc; dc in next dc] repeat around, join with slip stitch to top of first ch 3. (48 dc)
Rnd. 4: ch 1, sc in joining, ch 3, [skip next dc; sc, ch 3 in next dc] repeat around, end with ch 1, dc in first sc. (24, ch 3 loops)
Rnd. 5: ch 1, sc in first loop, [ch 3, sc in next loop] end with ch 1, dc in first sc. (24 ch 3 loops)
Rnds. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11: repeat rnd. 5.
Rnd. 12: ch 1, 2 sc in loop, [2 sc in next loop] repeat around, join with slip stitch to first sc.
(48 sc)
Rnd. 13: ch 1, sc in joining, sc in each sc around, join with slip stitch to first sc. (48 sc)
Rnd. 14: ch 4, skip next sc, [dc, ch 1, skip next dc] repeat around, join with slip stitch to 3rd ch of first ch 4. (24 dc, ch 1 spaces)
Rnd. 15: ch 3, 3 dc in next ch 1 space, [dc in next dc, 3 dc in next ch 1 space] repeat around, join with slip stitch to top of 1st ch 3, fasten off. ( 96 dc)
Drawstrings: make (2) ch 80 drawstrings, leaving a 3 inch tail at both ends. Weave first drawstring through ch 1 spaces of rnd 14. Tie ends at the tails. Weave second drawstring through same ch 1 spaces with the tails at the opposite end. Tie at tails.
Fringe: Wrap cotton crochet around a 3 inch cardboard square 10 times. Insert fringe at tied end of drawstring, trim if needed. Repeat for second drawstring.

It depends on what size you’re looking for…..you could switch to a cotton yarn such as Peaches and Cream and size I or J crochet hook
