Supplies: about 35 yards, size 10 (bedspread weight) Cotton Crochet, size 1 steel crochet hook.

Stitches used, ch, sc, dc, tr

Directions:

Ch 6, join with slip stitch to form ring.

Rnd. 1: ch 1, sc in ring (counts as 1st sc), 11 sc in ring, join with slip stitch to first sc. Do not turn. (12 sc) .

Rnd. 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in joining, 2 dc in each sc, join with slip stitch to top of first ch 3. Do not turn. (24 dc) .

Rnd. 3: ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in next dc, [dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc], repeat around, join to top of first ch 3, do not turn. (36 dc) .

Rnd. 4: ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc, ch 1 in joining, skip next dc, [3 dc, ch1 in next dc, skip next dc], repeat around, join with slip stitch to top of first ch 3, ch 1, turn. (18, 3 dc blocks) .

Rnd. 5: slip stitch in first ch 1 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1 in same space, [skip next 3dc, 3dc, ch 1 in next ch 1 space] repeat around, join with slip stitch to top of first ch 3, ch 1, turn. (18, 3dc blocks) .

Rnds. 6, 7, 8, 9: repeat rnd. 5.

Rnd. 10: ch 4, (counts as first dc, ch 1) skip ch 1 space, [dc, ch 1 in next dc, skip next dc, dc, ch 1, dc in next dc, skip next ch 1 space], repeat around, join with slip stitch to ch 3 of first ch 4, do not turn. (36, ch 1 spaces)

Rnd. 11: ch 5 (counts as first tr), tr in joining, [skip next ch 1 space, sc in next dc, ch 4, tr in same dc], repeat around, join with slip stitch to top of first ch 5. fasten off (36, sc, ch 4, tr groups)

Drawstrings: make (2) ch. 80 drawstrings, leaving 3 inch tails at both ends. Weave first drawstring through ch 1 spaces of rnd. 10. Tie ends at the tails. Weave second drawstring through ch 1 spaces of rnd. 10, so that the tails are at the opposite end of the first. Tie at tails.

Fringe: Wrap cotton crochet around a 3 inch cardboard square 10 times, cut in half. Insert fringe at tied end of drawstring, trim as needed. Repeat for second drawstring.
