No Frills Table Topper-Free Crochet Pattern


This works up easy and can be adjusted to most any size from very small to very big!.  Perfect for that place where you don’t want a frilly and lacy covering.

No Frills Table Toppers (Placemat, Table Runner, Dresser Scarf)

Skill Level: Cross Stitch Topper-Easy

Supplies: Size D/3/3.25mm hook, 4oz.- Bernat Handicrafter Thread-(Blues-2.8 oz per ball).  Size as shown: approx.13” x 21”

Stitches Used: ch (chain), sc (single crochet), rsc (reverse single crochet), dc (double crochet).

Note: to adjust for size-pattern row is worked in multiples of 3 plus 2.

Gauge: 7 pattern stitches (dc in next 2 dc, loosely hdc  in skipped dc, skip next dc) = 4”, 6 pattern rows (2 rows dc, 1 dc row) = 4”

Directions-Cross Stitch Topper:

Rnd. 1: ch69, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch3, turn.  68sc

Rnd. 2: skip next sc, *dc in next 2 sc, loosely hdc  in skipped sc, skip next sc*, repeat from *to* 21 times, dc in last sc, ch1, turn.

Rnd.3: sc in each dc across, ch1, turn.  68sc

Rnd. 4:sc in each sc across, ch3, turn.  68sc

Rnd. 5: skip next dc, *dc in next 2 dc, loosely hdc  in skipped dc, skip next dc*, repeat from *to* 21 times, dc in last dc, ch1, turn.

Repeat rnds. 3-5 to desired length.  (As shown 19”), ch1 at end of last row, turn.

Rnd. 6: sc in each dc across, ch1, turn.

Rnd. 7: (edging)) working around, sc in each sc, sc in end of each sc row, 2sc in end of each dc row, join to beginning sc, ch1, do not turn.

Rnd. 8: sc in each sc around, working 2sc in each corner, join to beginning sc, ch1, do not turn.

Rnd. 9: sc in each sc around, working 3sc in each corner st, join to beginning sc, join to beginning sc, ch1, do not turn.

Rnd. 10: rsc in each sc around, join to beginning sc, fasten off, weave in ends.
