Child’s Cable Mittens- Size: mitten measures 5.5″ wrist to finger tip

Skill Level:   Intermediate

Supplies: Size E/4/3.5mm and Size C/2/2.75mm Crochet Hooks,  2.25oz Yarn Bee Walk Away Sock Yarn (#02-Footsy)

Stitches Used: ch (chain), slst (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), scdec (decrease single crochet), dc (double crochet), fpdc (front post double crochet), bpdc (back post double crochet).

Special stitch: cable-skip first 3 dc, fpdc in next 3 dc, fpdc in 1st, 2nd and 3rd skipped dc.

Note: beginning ch 3 counts as first dc.

Front Post Double Crochet: (fpdc): Yo hook, insert hook from front to back to front around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.

Back Post Double Crochet: (fpdc): Yo hook, insert hook from back to front to back around post of indicated st, yo hook, pull up lp, [yo hook, pull through 2 lps] twice.

Unless noted otherwise, always skip the st behind the fpdc and the st in front of the bpdc.

Gauge: 5 sc per inch, 5 sc rows per inch.
